Using DR PTO trimmer on Cat 2 Tractor?

No, the spec is for overall width. Look more closely at the photo. Probably about the same size as the DR model.

I emailed Titan and they stated that it is 45" from the center of the PTO to the center of the cutter head. The diameter of the cutter head is 23".

Just having installed several thousand feet of fencing (and a couple thousand feet more to go) this thread is nice to see. I'd happily spend $1k on something like this to stop having to use the string trimmer. Now I just wish I could hook this AND the shredder up at the same time. Maybe the self powered version and some welding....

Ok so any of you still in love with this? Also their web site seems to intimate that it will NOT work with most quick hitch adapters. Sorry to say that will likely cause me to say no. I would want to use this weekly or bi-weekly and having to remove the quick hitch to do that is a non-starter for me.

Any one have experience with the Titan alternative?

I would think that the DR should work if you put one of the extenders on it. I need to move ours today, I will snag a picture.

Thanks. They seem to intimate the lower link pins are set too wide, not that the PTO shaft would be too short.

I have this mower, it's so frustrating because it could be so good, but it's a PITA. The concept is perfect, the execution, less so. First off, the floating disk should be higher up, it's hard to keep it from scalping without setting the mower up in a funny way. The return isn't fast enough and sometimes it gets "stuck" in the full back position. It's not big enough (there used to be bigger options, but none were available when I ordered this one), I have to set it up way offset to make sure it works. The disk part needs to be bigger too.

I wouldn't sell it, it's the best thing I've used for this. I may get the DR and give that a try, and maybe that'll be better. If I get that, I'm going to setup a "chain" off my existing bush hog, putting a ball on it so I can pull the whole setup behind my tractor. I'm mowing around ~400 trees, so this is a major job (15 acres of trees). The Woodmaxx is just so annoying; it could be perfect with such tiny modifications. I'm going to pull out my welder tomorrow morning and try something else tomorrow. I've used it for about 2 years now; and it's just a continual "mess with it" tool. But when it's good, oh man, is it good. It's so fast and does such a wonderful job, everything looks like it had a string trimmer run around it when I'm done.

I use an 8ft. three point bush hog to "trim" around fences and perimeter before going to the larger model.
I would like to mount one of these on one side of that 8 ft bush hog and run a belt to drive it.
I could mount another spindle above the housing to turn the string head. The whole assembly could then be adjusted for height.

That arm and tire could pivot as I reach fence posts and or obstacles in the fence rows on a single pass. the head would run
nearly centered on the bottom strand of wire and cut on both sides of the fences.
