Kubota B3030
I am wanting to buy a Wallenstein BXM42 chipper/shredder for my B3030 but I am concerned that it might be too big. It weighs 800lbs and requires a 30-90hp tractor. The B3030 is only rated at 23hp on the PTO. I want the 4 inch chipper capacity of the BXM42. Is anyone running a BXM42 chipper/shredder with a B3030 or similar sized Kubota. Maybe a B7800, B3000, B3200, B3300?

24" behind 3ph weight limit is 635 lbs. Even if you could lift it. You would need extra weight on front of tractor.

I can't imagine the BXM-42 is that much heavier or more demanding than the BX-42, is it? Does the shredder add that much more weight?

I use a BX-42 with my B2920, and it's never been an issue with power or weight. I don't recall the weight or HP specs, but at the time it seemed like a fine match for the B2920 in both regards. And it has performed flawlessly with the tractor.

The BXM42 weighs 375 lbs more than the BX42.

It is a heavy beast. I can feel it on the back of my tractor.

I just got the BXM42 last month and use it on a slightly larger tractor, the Kubota 3130. I was a little worried that the tractor would be too small, but it the combination is perfect for my needs. I use it to chip/shred Texas Live Oak and Texas "Cedar" trees (a type of Juniper).

I never tried another PTO chipper/shredder, but I can't imagine that any would be better than the BXM 42.

just for comparison I have a BXM-30 on a B2620. (smaller tractor AND smaller chipper/shredder). Wallenstien says this tractor is on the small side and maybe too small for the chipper / shredder but I bought it used from local gov't agency at 1/2 price with almost 0 hrs of use as they felt to dangerous for their summer students to use.

I run the 26hp (19pto) tractor at 1700 rpm (much less than rated 540 pto speed) and if just purrs along fine with no trouble.
2 adults feeding the chipper / shredder (sometimes chipper being used Plus small twigs down the shredder chute at same time) and the tractor runs no trouble at all.

Now the chipper is like now / sharp blades and hammers so this also helps.

so if you do not push it and within the lift capacity of your 3 pt setup you should be fine. I am unsure what your 3 pt. lift weight can handle though.

I use my bxm42 on my Case DX33 (27hp PTO) whithout Any problem.

It eats 4" pine log and mulch pine needles with ease.

The 800lbs weight is handled easily (I leave the FEL on the tractor for front weight).

I just saw this post. I have a 950 lb chipper I use on a B3030. No problem at all lifting it and transporting it. Front wheels have never left the ground.
