Tractor
Kubota Tractor Loader L3560 HST+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3,700 pounds bare tractor, 5,400 pounds operating weight, 37 horsepower
I have a Kubota B3300SU with 58" FEL bucket, 59" tire width.

There are occasions when it would be efficient to have a 60" or 72" flat bottom TRANSPORT BOX on the 3-Pt. hitch to carry additional dirt, tools, firewood and/or debris with the FEL bucket full.

In promo videos Transport Boxes are depicted reverse-loading with bulk material. Perhaps 3-Pt. Transport Box would increase tractor's ability to carry fill by 11-17 cubic feet, potentially eliminating utility vehicle plus UTV towed dumping trailer from some fill scenarios.

The ability to dump load is essential.

From my limited research two Transport Boxes are made in USA. Greenwell Manufacturing (producer of Pat's Easy Change) make "Pat's Easy Mover" in Kentucky, and Westendorf, the aftermarket loader people, make the WR-30 "Auto-Dump" in Iowa.

WR-20 & WR-30 Auto-Dump

Has anyone had any DIRECT EXPERIENCE with either? // Please do NOT post SPECULATION on how one or the other might work.

Are there other USA manufacturers of Transport Boxes I should research?

I am interested in utiliity and quality first, price trailing second.

I have no experience with that model, but I had a three point scoop. It had a cable with a handle and a pulley to dump the load. I used it on a small 20hp JD and found it very useful. Especially when moving dirt because it doubled the capacity of my small loader. I also used it to carry tools and things around. I found it very handy for a small tractor. When I upgraded to my current MX, I sold the scoop along with the small tractor.

Yea, give me my Polaris. It's much more manuverable than my tractor and much faster. Now one of those would be good for dirt but I can't figure out how to load it with my loader while it's on the tractor 3 PH.

Perfect implement. You could even tilt side to side. Is that a European exclusive or are they worldwide?
This style is almost a Portuguese exclusive, but it's available on other countries, although a lot lighter duty and with different design.

It's also called a link box on other countries. If you google "link box tractor" or "tipping transport box" , you'll see something similar but most are more like a bucket shaped.

Here is a catalog if you are interested. It has English language as well. http://www.joper.com.pt/attachments/upload/Catálogos/CX_CC.pdf

I have the WR-20 60" model of the WESTENDORF and have used it on the back of a 2wd 24 hp tractor along with my TC33D 4wd. It is the highlift model with a Hydraulic cylinder for the dump action. The basic model's dump action is accomplished via a chain attached to the tractor's drawbar and as the 3pt reaches its highest point, the chain through a linkage, dumps the bucket. Hence, the lower dump height on the basic models. The high lift models will easily dump into a trailer or pickup box. I do not have a fel for my present trac tor and have used the "auto-dump" to move gravel, sand and limestone without issues. It is sturdy enough to back into gravel and leave with a full bucket.

The capacity is only 3.5 cuft. but with a bucket of limestone, the 2wd was front end light. If you are interested in the WR-30 (capacity you were looking for), My only concern would be with the 3 pt arms strength backing into solid material.

If you haven't already, view the Youtube video from Westendorf labeled autodump.

While I've got your attention, I want to thank you for your many responses to TBN and respect the thought and wisdom put into them. Thanks again Jeff. hope this helps, halftrack

That’s easy. Buy a second tractor…

Well, there's sure nothing new about that Split-fire dump box, BUT i love the video because it shows what all dump boxes should have been able to do all along, which is back into piles. They tease just a little at using the dumped box to drag out a pile. That would probably not do much on a pure gravity dump box that only latches in the flat position, but if one had a power top link you could angle it back and do a decent backdrag with it while it was latched flat. Of course, if it was hydraulically dumped you could pick a range of angles.. and while i think these things mostly appeal to people who don't have or dont think they need any 'fancy' equipment like FEL, hydraulic top link or other rear remote, i think they could find a decent amount of use even among those that do if the design thoughtfully included use possibilities for those things. It might seem superfluous to an FEL if you cant load it with the FEL, but if you've got a 3pt quick hitch it doesnt seem too bad to me to drop it, load it, and pick it back up along with one last bucket full and drive away. Unlike all the other dump bed options (aside from a separate dump trailer towed by the tractor) it doesn't require a second operator or second trip..

One thing I still haven't seen a single pic of even though i figure there are lots of farms with both pieces sitting around, is why doesn't anyone put an old-fashioned 3pt scoop on an old-fashioned 3pt hi-lift? Seems like plenty of large-ish tractors could handle a 30" (ie small) bucket full of rock on the 3pt even if it was 5ft out, and it would let you dump into a trailer or truck bed just like Halftrack mentioned doing with the WR-20. It would certainly be less stressful on the tractor than doing the same lift with round bales but every video ive found of a hi-lift that's what they're doing with them! Could even make it self-dump at full height just by tying off your latch string to the back of the tractor in the right way. 3pt hi-lifts seem to be strangely expensive to me for what they are, but it may just be that there's such low volume that it doesn't enjoy any economies of scale to make them vs more high-selling implements.
