Front-End Loader Loader for Ford 2000

   / Loader for Ford 2000 #11
I have a 3 cyl gas 2000 with a Superior loader (their heaviest duty model) and it is heavy - lots of weight on the front end. I have filled tires and a complete set of weights just to keep the back wheels on the ground. The bush hog stays on the back permanently as a counterweight. With all that, the tractor is just too heavy and when my ground is anything but dry or frozen, the main job of the loader is to back me out of the ruts I make.

No, not for a while. I guess the point of my reply was that as phenominally useful as a loader is, there are tradeoffs and you should be adding a counterweight behind the rear axle the same time you add the FEL.

Points out how a light weight FEL loader may be better than a heavy duty one. The one arm Ford FEL were super for like an 800 Ford tractor.

Thanks everyone for posts, and on so it seems in my case the best approach is a light loader, 730 is best. I have not been able to locate anything yet, will spend the winter visiting local dealers, if any members have leads, please provide, much appreciated.

Try SSB Tractor supply on the net. They have loaders and they are in New York.

Hello,
I have a 3 cyl. petrol 2000 with a FEL on it seems to work ok however it has a separate tank for hydraulic oil up by the controls which allows the oil to flow back to the egnie mounted pump so it doesn't run out of oil/prim which can happen with these.
Cheers dexta and 2000
