I have a Bolens G192. Does anyone have any information or advice relative to plowing with a tractor that size. I plan to buy a single bottom plow, 12 or 14 inch. Should I get the coulter kit and depth gauge too? Any places besides TSC anyone would suggest getting one?

As far as places to buy, you might check the Sweet Tractor website to see their new and used selection. Even if you don't buy, you can see a wide range of what is available.

We do have a 1-12 special catagory 1 low profile plow for the smaller CUT Tractor-Pictured below--Call 270-528-3323-Mon-Fri-8-5- CST and ask to talk to my son, Greg about price and specifics--NOTE: The normally stocked TSC type plows wont work, They are too tall in profile--Ken Sweet

How big/how much hp is your bolens?

I know that even the old international cubs were designed to pull a rear 1 bottom plow.. and heck.. these thinks are like 14 engine hp... perhaps 11 at the drawbar... The back pages in one of my manuals shows a couple different plow configurations for my 66 IH cub....

If your bolens is in that range.. I would -guess- a small 1 bottom plow would work.

I just checked your profile....By any chance do your H's have 3pt? if so, they are more than man enough to pull a plow.. at least a 2 bottom 14".. maybee a 3 in the right soil.

I recently sold a 9 HP, 1957 Power King tractor that I pulled a plow with for more than 44 years. The soil in my area is mostly clay and it is no easy chore to pull a plow through it. The big advantage the Power King had is that it had 16 inch tires on the rear that provided good traction. Traction is more important than HP when plowing (tractor weight & tire size).

do you sell any with the guage wheel and the sod cutter? I've tried 2 plows on my tractor the biggest problem i had is it going to deep and pulling sideways. I tried one with a cat 0 hitch another one simular to a TSC one both worked though they were tall and had to adjust it.

You can use an arrangement similar to check chains to prevent the plow from running too deep.

You might try lengthening your toplink. That should point the leading edge of the plow upwards and stop it from running too deep.

I dug out the copy I have of the 8N Ford operator's manual. In the back of the book they have a section on pulling a plow and it says that " Rolling coulters are used to cut trash, roots, reduce draft and to leave a uniform furrow wall." So I guess that means it wouldn't hurt to get a set of coulters.
