My drills are all packed up but I found my hole saws in another tool box that's still here. My neighbor has a drill press. So that problem is solved.

I'll get the scrap steel from my storage unit, a 55 gallon plastic barrel and the drawbar tomorrow; plus some 4" PVC and caps for tool storage. We'll fab most of the stuff tomorrow and then weld Friday afternoon, put in 2" of concrete where my friends house is to set the PVC, then take it up to the property Friday night and finish filling it with concrete - without the tractor we won't be able to move it!

My model will be k0ua's version, except a plastic barrel plus I plan to fill my mine a little fuller, maybe only 2"-3" from the top.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks newbury, that's on my list, but not right now - the property has to take priority!

Thanks,

Hey, k0ua just thought of something:

What's the vertical distance between your drawbar top and the top link hole?

Thanks!

I don't remember what I made it. but you can use the standard cat 1 implement height of 15 inches.

Sounds like you've got a plan. :dance1: I agree with your call on needing the rear ballast.

Well made some progess:

- Got the barrel, it's steel instead of plastic, beggars can't be choosers
- steel cut, drawbar bought (thanks honey!), installed and welded in with about 100 lbs of various rebar and scrap steel.
- I have 10 bags of ready-mix, I'll buy another tomorrow because the two 3" PVC pipes didn't take up as much room as I originally thought. I also have some broken concrete blocks on site that I'll mix in with tomorrow

When we put it back into the truck, my buddy asked how the heck I was going to get it out; it was a lot heavier than I expected, glad he was there to help. My answer: Simple: I've got a tractor with forks! I'll be careful using it without ballast and have my wife take videos for you guys to quibble over in the next few days or so (assuming, of course, there are no major disasters or even a minor disaster!).

Thanks for the help!
