I should have made a video of my B7500 without telescoping links and those goofy little turnbuckles for stabilizers. Hooking up the rotary cutter was a real "joy", especially on sloping ground. It would have had to been without audio though, as even I learned some new curse words messing with that thing.

Yep, I hear ya. Did you see the frustration on my face when I couldn't get the pin out of the telescoping stabilizer?? I almost turned off the camera and started over, but figured there would just be something else. :)

Switching to Stabilworks stabilizers on our B7500 helped a lot on that. Would still be nice to get extendable ends, but its manageable as it sits...

Yep, I feel your pain. I think it still comes down to frequency of use. If you are talking about hooking to an attachment a couple times a week, it would be hard to justify the modifications and expense. If you are talking about hooking to an attachment a couple times a day, the justification changes dramatically.

Somedays I will be swapping rear implements 2 or 3 times.

But if the narrowness between the lower pins on some implements would require me to mount and dismount the #150 qh itself, that is a deal breaker.

So my only real option is to buy a cat I quick hitch which I am not happy about.

Great video comparison here. Now that I have iMatch on my JD, I will never, ever go back!

Is Pat's Easy Change a make of quick hitch or is quick hitch a whole different animal?

Pats is half of a quick hitch.. you still need to get off and hook up the top link.. The upside is there is not much problem with implement incompatibility.. Because the top link connection does not have to be exactly in the right spot, like it does with a "real" one piece quickhitch. The other downside is that the Pats stick out an extra 4 inches, so your PTO shafts on all your PTO driven implements might be a bit short.. Might not.. just depends if they were Maximum length to begin with. But generally a bit short is the rule. The Carters get around that by setting directly in line with your hitch balls but they are higher.. So. your hitch cant quit go as low as it could without them.

Appreciate the reply. Just watched the Carter and Sons video. Seems just like the Pats and in the Carter video he needs to attach the top link as does Pat's. So they seem the same to me, no??

I dont use a QH for the same reasons k0ua said. Dealing with a bunch of old used 1980's and 1990's implements as well as homemade.....nothing is standard.

But I did make some QH hooks, similar to pats system, and it does make it easier hooking up my 700# blade and 1100# hog.

But I still gotta say, dads old 8n is still easier, just plain old 3PH. But his implements are lighter, and the 3PH balls are mighty loose;) I wouldnt be a bit surprised if he could hook to cat II pins:laughing:

Very similiar but not the same. Remember Pats stick out back, Carters stick UP, so the Carters do not need PTO extension

Also if you don't have telescopic stabilzers and use pats you will need a way yo hold the lift arms in place. If you switch to Pats you will need a longer toplink.
