Where to buy a Wallenstein 3PT chipper

Finally have decided that I'm going to pull the trigger and buy a 3PT chipper. It seems like every time I rent a chipper for the weekend to pull behind my truck, the very next week some high winds come through and make a big mess of everything I cleaned up.

So I have my eye on a Wallenstein BX62s for my 5075E. I think that will be more than enough, as the chipper I've rented a few times was only rated for a 4" limb... and the BX62 a 6".

Any advice on where the best place is to start looking to buy one from any of you who are Wallenstein owners?

Yes, I've done enough reading / research and found that Wallenstein seems to be worth the $!

My Kubota dealer got my Wally for me. Start at the Wally web site and see what dealers are in your area. Mine is a BX42 - had it seven years - never a moments problems. At times I kinda wish I'd have bought a BX62 - that's until I go to lift a 4" pine tree - - then I'm completely satisfied with what I've got.

I actually just called to have a quote run from a Kubota dealer 45 min away. The Wallenstein website listed them as a dealer. They are sending it over shortly. I did have to make sure they knew I needed it ordered with GREEN paint, though.

You're really right that limbs bigger than 4" are bears. Most of the time, I slice them up for firewood around the 4"+ size... but I figured - hey, I got the PTO HP, let's have some flexibility in case I don't want to drag the chainsaw around with me sometimes!

You are wise to go for the bigger size if you can manage it. It's not that you would normally chip stuff that big, but it helps in feeding logs with limbs to have more room - saves trimming them off and feeding them separately. Also, it lets you get rid of bigger stuff you don't want to burn, like pine, and stuff too rotten to burn.

That's the first vendor that I came across. Wasn't sure if anyone had ordered thru them or not.

My local dealer came in around $4400 cash price out the door. That's a little higher than Iowa Farm even with shipping, I think.

I'll get a quote from Woodward today.

I've been running a WoodMaxx WM-8H for about 6 months and love it. I was like you and would cut brush (mostly honeysuckle) for a month then rent a chipper and finally after doing that for months purchased. I looked at the BX62 but wanted a chipper with power feed to help break down the bushy honeysuckle.
