Just wanted to make a quick post about this new attachment. I fell a couple 80' trees over the weekend and had a chance to really beat on it. When I got this thing out of the box I couldn't believe how heavy it was. Both of the trees were dropped in a ravine and had to be pulled up out of the pickers for bucking. I lifted the tree from the stump side and dragged it up onto the path. Then used to loop on the bottom with a chain the keep lifting the log up a few inches. The trees were ash - probably 30". I was really happy with this thing. And having something to throw a ball into for moving the trailers is great. No more chains sliding around the bucket!

I've got something similar. Never liked it because it always wanted to twist sideways when moving trailers around the yard. When I was finally able to get a set of forks, I bought a receiver that slides onto the fork carriage. That works just fine, plus I can see it because I'm not trying to look over or through a bucket.
But if the receiver you got is doing the job for you, that's all that counts.

Hum, the trailers were empty. It did twist to the side once the first time I tried to pull the tree with the steering wheel turned. I noticed that I tightened it right over one of the support ribs on the bottom side - center of the bucket. So I moved it over before tightening back up. I may have only been pulling against the rib at that point. I'll have to take note. If it's an issue it will be a bit*h to overcome. I'd have to weld another piece on the bucket and tighten the clamp between them. That piece would also have to be tapered as it skids. As for now.... It's got about a 3/4" screw. I'm just wrenching the final turn with a breaker bar.

Good thing to think about for perspective buyers though.

Could you provide more information about your carriage-mount receiver? A picture and manufacturer or web link would be great. Thank you.

Matt.

Matt - Its late and I'm using a Kindle right now. Will get a pic and post for you in the morning when I've got a computer online. Can't remember the vendor. It sure looks like this one: Trailer Hitch Receiver For Pallet Fork Frame $79.00 | Trailer Hitches for Tractors/Skid Steers | palletforks.com
No need to get a pic of my setup, Matt. The link shown is the one that I have. My 7x18 business trailer is pretty heavy, and I've had no problems moving it around the yard with that hitch.

Artillian makes one also that you have to take the forks off. I would like to have one that the forks slide into and then chained to the fork rails.
