So I own a 48" Wildkat grapple which I am happy with. I stack my logs and big rounds on a heaping pile. When it's time to process these pieces into firewood, I find the grapple is hard to pick one log or round out at a time. I'm curious if anyone knows of another type of grapple that would be better suited for this? My thoughts are a grapple with an overall width of no more than 24", maybe even 18". This should allow me to grab one hunk at a time without getting hung up on other pieces. I can't decide how many tines on the top and bottom would be best. I found this add on grapple: New Bucket Thumb Grapple for Skid Steer Loader Tractor | eBay and thought it could be used as the top half of the grapple, welded to a SSQA plate and come up with a setup for the bottom tines.
