hello everyone i am in the market for a new rotary mower i have been compareing all the major brands and reading the forums here on this site and theres alot of info about most brands of mower i recently bought a case ih 485 tractor eng hp 53 pto hp 43 and i am looking at a 6 ft mower . i mow approx 14 acres some is just grass and small brush but about 1/3 of this place has had the timber cut i ve cleaned most of it up but still have stumps and this part of the land stays wet until summer then it all dries out and i try to mow this part once a year to keep it from getting out of hand so the weeds and bushes grow up and you cant see the stumps till your right on it to make this short sorry so long but wanted you guys to see what i asking i m looking not so much gearbox wise but for a heavy duty mower frame which leads to the heavier 7 guage deck with 1/4 inch sidebands more expensive mowers so i bought a case ih tractor and got to thinking does case ih make a rotary mower i found on there site where they do but they dont have much info so my question to you guys is do any of your have case ih rotary mowers or have any experience with them to give me a fair coparison to bush hog rhino woods etc... again sorry so long thanks

Never been around a case mower.

For what you are referencing I would suggest a heavy Woods or Rhino. Make sure it has the stump jumper in it. A round plate that the blades attach too. Some have a bar and others just use the blades. These two styles won't ride over objects as easily as the round disk risking damage if you hit a stump or rock. Also make sure you use a slip clutch or shear pin with right hardness pin in it to prevent damage to tractor. If useing the slip clutch after it has set for a couple months without use loosen the bolts and slip it to make sure it's not stuck.

well i answered my own question called caseih dealer and they sell bushhog and other brands as well but the cujtter on the caseih web site is actually made by modern ag and badged as a case or new holland seems to be a pretty good mower
