Default How do I take the disconnect the driveline from the PTO shaft?

new to this...I'm trying to take my Land Pride RCR1860 off my L3200. I have the 3 links off but I can't figure out how to take the driveline off the PTO. It has a black shield around it up by the PTO shaft coming from the kubota. I thought there was a button or something to push to release it the driveline but I can't find it.

    Can anyone help me?

Try this, it will be a slip collar or pin: Connecting a PTO shaft to tractor - YouTube

there are 3 basic type of disconnect.. a push button, a collar you pull back on, and a collar you twist.

You've got the same cutter I do, unless they've changed driveshaft manufacturers there is a spring loaded pin to press across the shaft where it slips over the stub end from the tractor. Like James said, the other possibilities are a collar that pulls back, or a collar that twists to unlock, though I've never seen that type myself. The trick is to pull back on the shaft while you're pressing the pin, pulling or twisting the collar. You can drive ahead to get rid of the cutter, the two halves of the shaft will just separate. Just don't back up once they're apart, don't ask how I know this..

Pretzel, pretzel Hey if you do decide to pull the tractor forward to slip the two halves of the shaft apart, try not to drag it in the dirt, and it would be a good time to clean and check for grease between the two halves while you are at it. It needs grease too, just like the U joints on each end. So many guys let them rust. By the way most of them only go back together one way.
