Kubota L3901 Former: Kubota L2250
In the process of researching the 3 point wood chippers that are out there. Finding it difficult to find anything used and when I do, it gets scooped up pretty quick. Primarily looking for something so I can keep the wood line at bay from our pastures and to chip up hardwood branches and limbs from trees dropped for firewood. So in reality, nothing larger than 4-5 inches. I will be running it off my Kubota L2250, but hope to eventually get another tractor that may have a bit more hp and be automatic. Hear good things about the Wallys and a few others, but would like to be under 2k and those are a tad pricey. I know you get what you pay for, but I figure I will be using it a couple times each year. Hard to justify another expensive "toy" that we all know is really not a toy! :laughing:Came across the Value Leader brand made in China and would like to hear any feedback from folks that have bought one. If people know of another place besides CL to be looking for used chippers, pass that along as well. Also welcome any other suggestions. Thanks in advance!!

Look on the bottom of this page for "Similar Threads". And/or search for "value leader". There are other Chinese chippers as well. Some not as bad as others.

My neighbor bought one and had nothing but trouble with it. He paid a hefty price to ship it back.

A wood chipper is just not something to skimp on when you need one.

I'm interested in a wood chipper too (for a future purchase) but don't know anything about them except what I read. I have read some good things about the Woodmaxx chippers, which are priced just slightly above your price target. I keep hearing that Woodmaxx's customer service is great.

The wood chipper from value leader is ok, I know the factory who produce it, located in my city. Also woodmaxx is another good choice for you, I'm quite sure for it.

Since there are so many wood chipper factory in China, different factory with quite different quality level, I'm interesting in which seller did your neighbor buy, can you show me its webpage? Then I think I can identify which factory made it, or at least I can identify where it was made. Thank you.

I ran my new Wally B42 s today for the first time. $2900.00 new, no shipping,no tax. I'm clearing my lot to build my home. I've dropped 30 or so trees, all oak and black birtch so I had a huge brush pile. Like you I looked for every video on the net on pto chippers. For me it was between the Wally and the woodmaxxhttp://www.woodmaxx.com/product_p/tm-86h.htm

I really wanted a hydro feed chipper, but the Wally hydro was way out of reach for me. The new woodmaxx just came out last week and the price is unreal for what you get. I went with the Wally b/c of all the positive feed back I read. Plus it's made in North America. Having said that, the Wally really did impress me. It ate everything I feed it. Some of the brench's were a shade bigger that 4 inches and it shredded them. I'm running it on a B-3200 Kutoba. But I will tell you that I did have to really work at getting the smaller brush to go though it. If you send a 10' long 4" wide branch with little limbs at the end, you'll have to manually push the last 3' or so though by hand. It just won't grab it at that point. If the limb has no little brush/branches at the end, it will gravity feed it self right though. So be prepared to sweat a little. For what it is, I'd give it a 5 out of 5. It's really well built. I'll try and put a video together of what I'm using it for. I'm sure the woodmaxx is a good product, but made in China? I just can't see how they can make chipper for that price. I think you get what you pay for. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope so. Cheers.

Thanks for the great feedback. Did you have any set up on the Wally? If so, how long. You're actually not too far from me; did you purchase it locally? I have been looking at the Woodmaxx as well. If you get the video, that would be great. Thanks again!

Willing to watch your video. Woodmaxx team have a very good engineer which have a good design and quality level control.

I think most US customer believe that you get what you pay for, but it obviously that you can buy a good product with cheap price in the global markets, I think you can find many example nearby you. Although Chinese worker salary is increasing these years, but it is still 3000 RMB per month in my city, so China still can provide many good products with cheap price these years.

By the way, I can tell you that, in this tractor implement industry, many good products which you thought made in US or made in EU, they are just OEM in China, I have visited some of these Chinese OEM factory, they are pretty good factory.
