PTO Generator

   / PTO Generator #51
I am in the portable/manual transfer switch camp. It is my understanding that in Ontario you need a MOE permit to set up a diesel standby genny. Due to that fact I will do the whole thing with a portable & manual transfer switch and run into a sub panel for the well pump (220V). Off the manual switch I can run 6/8 110V duplex outlets with good extension cords to run the sump pump + a light over it, the fridge, some lights (table lamps) upstairs and the TV + satellite and a couple of computers. The three freezers can be run one at a time off a circuit or two as well. The primary concerns are the well and the sump pump.

3/4 hp is about 560 watts at 110 volts this would be about 5 amps, the start up for a motor can be up to three times its rated amps so you may need about 15 amps or so to start this motor, hence the 20 amp breaker. so i would think that your generator should handle this load.
