Colville, WA is not the end of the earth but you can see it from there. On a recent trip, I looked at a BO Dozer grapple at a tractor dealership. It appears to be well made. The Kubota dealer that I work with in Spokane thinks highly of their equipment.
I'm not familiar with the other brand (AN BO), in fact had not heard about it until your post. I'll have to check it out.
My dilemma is whether I should buy a grapple or a bucket claw. I see the grapple as being more expensive but possibly more useful for brush clearing, tree handling, etc. A heavy duty bucket with a Bo Dozer or other brand bucket claw attachment may be more useful for rocks, general lifting, etc. The bucket claw attachment is about 1/2 the price of the grapple. Perhaps a toothbar added to the bucket may increase the usefulness of the bucket claw?. Maybe you have some thoughts? Since I'm still in the tractor buying mode (this spring I think /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )I am looking more at tractors than attachments. I was quoted $2370 for the 5 foot grapple + $290 for installation of any quick attach plates or special mounting brackets if needed; the BC1 compact tractor bucket claw was priced at $1240. I was curious and not serious so these may not be the best prices available.
By the way, Colville is a very pleasant small town in a beautiful area just south of the Canadian border. The major attraction on Saturday night appeared to be watching traffic navigate the recently installed roundabout on main street (US 395).
