Hi,

Purchasing a 5115M and am looking at a tiller to use on it. The tiller I have in mind is a Frontier RT1181 - 81 In. Standard Duty Rotary Tiller. I plan on using this tiller to chew up some rough parts of our yard, ditches and water ways as I smooth them out over the next few years. May even use it to till the garden:)

I know on the frontier site it says that this is a standard duty tiller but not sure how it will hold up. Anyone have any experience with one of these or a similar tiller?

Thanks

Well you have plenty of power (one beautiful unit), so why not use it. First you need the tiller width to cover your tires. Second why pay a premium on a tiller when there are better non green products. Check out the Ansung Terra Force line. A vender here sells them. They have features your Frontier does not. Also with a tiller weight is your friend. Good luck

Check out the Kuhn tillers also if you have dealer in your area. The depth wheels are just much easier to use than skids and on my 62-210 84 inch tiller I never get any weeds around my tines which is a huge advantage for me.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply's. I will look into those tillers also. The Frontier is appealing to me because it is sold right at the same place mostly. I do not plan on using this very often and am trying to save some money getting a lighter duty unit. It will be mostly for yard work and some light ditch/water way work. The larger and heavier duty tillers get very expensive. Just curious if anyone has any experience with the standard duty units.I figure if it has a shear bolt or the slipper clutch even the larger tractor should not damage it?
Thanks
