For clarification, Harry refunded me the total I spent to have it modified, NOT the total purchase price.

Aha... sorry I misunderstood. Very fair and now you have an awesome addition to your bucket! I can't imagine not having one for the amount of digging and moving dirt/gravel, etc.

Adding to an old thread.

I have a Ratchet Rake for my B2320 and just ordered a PTB. The comparison in my loamy, rocky, rooty woods will be interesting. I have tried many times and many ways to take up saplings =/< 3" with the RR but no dice. It wants to just slide up the trunk.

I think the beveled edges of the PTB teeth coupled with the V design will be better to cut into the saplings and hold, like a pair of scissors.

I expect the RR will be better for dragging applications while the design of the PTB will excel in forward motion.

We shall see.

Gratuitous photo for no reason...

P.S.

I plan to try attaching my PTB with pins to make it truly QA.

Avery, just received mine about a week ago. All the hype is true. Best $300 you could spend if you want to do some digging, methinks. Good luck with the pins you are trying. Honestly, you can have it off in 90 seconds with the supplied hardware (I timed it). I had to grind mine on each end under the mounting tab just a little for a tight fit over the bucket edge but total install was less than an hour. Hope you love it as much as I do.

You should bolt it. It needs to be tight with the bucket so it doesn't move around. The tooth bar works great!

I haven't had one reason to take mine off. The V digs into the saplings and with curl, up, or a little forward motion usually pops the tree with root ball and all out.
It back drags fine also. Stand the bucket on the teeth for a coarse rake action and then roll the bucket back to flat for a smooth as glass finish on dirt/gravel.

How about that comparison?

Agreed... since it back drags smoothly, I see absolutely no reason to remove it. Going on third year and still is looking good with lots of banging around rocky soil and gravel.

+1. It needs to be tight. If a hole is loose enough to put a pin through, then using the tooth bar will cause enough back and forth movement to eventually waller out the hole. Plus, a pin would probably stick out into the bucket and get caught on things and bend, and then it won't be very quick-detachable.

As others have posted, I've never seen any reason to take mine off. And if I ever do, it might take 30 seconds longer to unscrew the two nuts than it would to remove 2 pins.

Agreed. A couple of bolts, nuts and big washer each side through a tight hole is what I did. Sized the bolt so the tail was flush with the nut when clamped up. Put the nuts on the outside of the bucket.
