Seems like a fair price. What size tractor do you have it on? I have a Kubota L5740 and I have considered something that size, but was afraid that would be too big.

What diameter are the pans? Looks like 22" diameter to me.
Those gang hangers, with clamp plates above and below, connected by bolts, will provide much sturdier union than U-bolts most Disc Harrows use. Buy a big wrench with a ratchet of bolt-head size on one end, soon. EBay would be a good place to browse for the wrench.
I find the shielding around the 3-Pt connection points interesting. I have never seen connection shielding before.
Not a speck of rust.
I think you did well on the price for such a heavy duty unit.
It should penetrate extremely well.
Who built it? Brown? Monroe Tufline?
On your second pass over ground, when the pans sink deep, you will be glad for your turbo-charger.

Lowery in Alabama the auction had about ten sets and this being the biggest. they are brand new never used.
I Cant wait to try them out. I just dont have a cat 2 top link (I bent mine) I am gonna mod mine to work for the time being . I think they are 24" and I love the way the pins go in as well. I drove by tractor supply and seen no comparison in quality.

If you have any difficulty penetrating sod, shorten the top link until rear gang is raised above ground, concentrating more weight on the front gang. If you still have difficulty, which I doubt, reset front gang for LESS angle.

Thanks for the advice that make sense, I probably just start that way. i have to find a nice drag now. I am going to be reclaiming my furrow fields that have been neglected and slightly brush covered.

Get another REALLY BIG wrench for the Disc Harrow axle nuts.
Axle nuts always work loose on new Disc Harrows.
You check for tightness by raising DH with 3-Pt., then "ring" each pan with a mallet, wrench, or hammer. If any sound "flat" tighten the associated axle nut with pans in dirt, blocked with a 2X4 if needed.
You can never get DH axle nuts too tight. After 3-5 snugs the gangs will settle in and you will need to tighten less frequently.
If axle nuts are not kept tight, the pan hubs will round out and freewheel instead of cut, or the axle will score with same result, or both.
