Here's some pics of the old grinds re purposed 'apple box unloader turned into driveway smoother'.

The pic with my foot shows the pivoting bar that the lower links attach to. This allows it to float.

The pic of the underside shows 4 rows of small angle iron that pic up material. Pretty simple.

He and I are going to build one or two using this as a prototype.

DR has a grader that will fill in the holes. My Mother has one that I was using today. It come in 4' or 5' widths with an optional screen to pull behind. The 4' model with screen is $1329.88

DR Power Grader (Driveway Grader) | DR Power Equipment

Works great and I am doing half mile of driveway.

Think of it as a driveway version of dragging a section of chain link fence crossed with a sanding block to assure a smooth finish that blends all materials and seeks to distribute them into potholes within it's dimensions. It's kind of a 'final finish' gizmo and maintenance device that does so over time and can't really be compared to the DR device or a land plane that can make a driveway from scratch. Limited use, but very effective for dressing/finishing or maintaining, and as GP says, no soft spots because it just can't dig in.

btw, I was tilling a new garden this week and gave the angle blade another chance to win my appreciation on the driveway without the '____' (insert nickname). Once was enough to remind me why I hadn't used the blade in years. In use, I had the usual chore of fussing with the level control and steering a straight line, and it took way too long to mount-up without yet having installed my Pat's easy change ( I will now) or a helper.

I gave GP a quick demo before loading it up to deliver and mount to his B2620. Having used it only twice last season and dealing mostly with ruts from the Spring thaw I got this in just a few passes.

Not many folks see/use my driveway, but the UPS man has complemented me more than once. I guess he's seen a few drives like mine, .. or not.

I will only use a landscape rake. Easy to maintain crown for drainage and leaves a nice spread of gravel. Takes me about 1.5 hours every couple weeks for a touch-up on a 3000' driveway.
