I know most people would not want to do this but I'm going to try anyway.

I have been trying to find a landplane to rent from equipment rental businesses around the area and no one has them.

So anyone around Flint or Lansing or other reasonably close area interested in a day rental of their landplane - 4 - 6 foot size?

I can pick it up and deliver it back to you. Paying cash. I'm trustworthy but you decide if you want me to leave collateral of some sort.

Thanks.

A Google search for Landplane returned many different styles, I'm not sure which type interests you. This one (6' across) will be in an auction a few miles east of Gaylord on Sunday (tomorrow).

You might try some of the equipment dealers, they may have one for rental or demo.

How about a trade. I have a 4 foot 3pt tiller.

Having built two of them have you considered building one? My rough estimate is about $110/ft of width so a 4' would cost about 450 to build. Lots of steel and fabrication shops have drop piles that will have steel large enough to build a 4' land plane at a reduced price. I built the one below for about $400.

Wish you were closer, I could use a small tiller.

GP, use mine .. 'er for that driveway. Or, just come and check it out on mine to see what it'll do. I'm guessing you'd consider copying one, and I know you can weld. ;) Thursday or Friday too soon? (Got PM?)

I may build one next winter. I've just got too many projects and commitments in the next few months.

I may just have to use other equipment I have for this year. I have the Ratchet Rake which will help me take care of pot holes, that and a back blade and landscape rake will probably take care of it ok.

I'm in the same boat. Thankfully I spotted a used one on my dealers rack that I'm hoping to rent.

Forgot about yours. That would be good. I'll be out of town for next few days but maybe next Monday? I don't see a PM notice. I'll check it out and talk to you soon. Thanks. I want to get it reasonably smooth before I order more gravel.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but what is a landplane and what does it do?
