JD 625 Mower-Conditioner :: Small Acres, and Waterway Contours

I'm trying to decide whether it's better to get a small moco like the JD 625 or a disc mower for my small acre fields, and potentially a waterway with a somewhat hilly contour. I'm concerned something large would be overkill and hard to navigate on smaller acre fields (1-2ac) and also be complicated to work a waterway hill contour -- don't want to complicate the operation, or break/bind anything from the hills, turns, etc.

Any thoughts?

used disc mower or new drum mower are roughly the same price. Check DaveOmak . His TBN posts give you a lot of info on using a drum mower on a small alfalfa field.
