New Stump Bucket in action

I'd love to see some pics of your camera setup when you get it done. I've got a Wildkat stump grapple (same thing as your stump bucket but with a grapple lid) and I can't see the business end of it when digging. So I have to do everything by feel. That camera would sure be handy.

Stump bucket arrived in good shape today. Normally I would have loaded it on my forks with the QA bracket closest to the tractor but I noticed it was upside down on the pallet. So I had the driver spin it around on the truck.

When I got it where I wanted it I angled it down to let it slide down the forks til it almost came off. Then I pushed it over pallet and all. Did break the last board on the pallet but the bucket came through without a scratch. (Don't want to be scratching a stump bucket! :) )

The only reason I mention this is if it was shipped upright somebody without forks could have driven up and hooked up, so if you order it take note.

Locked up tight on the QA and the replaceable teeth look beefy. Overall looks very well made, can't wait to start digging!

Mine arrives tomorrow! Anxious to pop a few honey-locusts and also get after a few stubborn rocks. I'm just hoping my 4350lb DK50 will have the oooomph to get it in the ground.

Here's a video I did this afternoon, it's a 12" pine stump cut a month ago. Need to learn the best angle to remove the optimum amount of material, a lot depends on how many/how big the roots are. It did get on three wheels a few times but it was on a hill and in some pretty big ruts. I'm pretty pleased for having it one day and will work better when I get the camera, I'm sure. I cut the video to 4 minutes but it really took me 15. I cut out all the times I walked around and looked at the bucket angle!

For some reason the embedded video isn't working on my Ipad, but it is on my pc. Here's a link if you can't see the video. https://vimeo.com/100352990

I think a lot will depend on how hard your soil is and how deep honey locust roots are. I'm sure up to a certain size you may even be able to get it in one try once you perfect your technique. I have been making craters all around my property! Getting pretty good by looking at the bucket indicator but for me it's still a "blind" dig. Can't wait for the camera to arrive.

My tractor with nothing on the 3 pt weighs 9100 lbs.

Interesting - mine was right-side-up on the pallet. I guess the workers had stopped drinking on the job before mine was shipped out.

Ha! I hope not. The good news is, our awesome team of guys that handle the distribution gladly confirmed they would ship them all right side up when I made the request.
