I see references to the LP rb3584 but I don't see it listed on the LP website.

What's the difference? That the T version can take hydraulics? Do they even still make the non T version?

I am close to buying a rbt3584 because I want hydraulic angle now and maybe add in hydraulic offset once I get more rear remotes (have 3 but already using tnt). But I want to make sure I understand the difference models before I commit to buy.

Also I see that a cushion valve is optional to prevent damage to hydraulics. Is this something I should consider adding if I get the hudraulic angle?

Thanks for any advice, Bill

I have the RBT 3584. I had the same questions but I discovered that the RB versions were not hydraulically controlled and had no provisions to be made hydraulic, like adding cylinders. They are adjusted by putting pins in different holes.
The RBT blades can be had without the hydraulics but by simply replacing the stiff arms (for lack of a better term) with cylinders they can be made hydraulic and you can add one, two or all three cylinders as you like. Or have outlets for.
It's kinda moot now if you are buying a new blade. The RB's are no longer made.
My blade is all hydraulic and I have a hydraulic top link. the top link has a check valve in it so I just set it to the length I want, disconnect it's lines and connect the lines for the blade. Works well.
PS. I do not have a cushion valve but it seems like a good idea. Haven't had an issue to this point though but I go real slow. I ain't very good with the blade yet.

The RB3784 is a nice blade. (replaces the RB35 & 36 series blades) you can have hydraulic angle with the RB37 series blades. But if you were to see these 2 blades side by side, no comparison other than they are both Land Pride blades.

The RBT3584 is the way to go for you. Purchase the blade with skid shoes and the tilt ratchet only. Do not buy any of the manual or hydraulic units for the offset or angle functions. I can get you these in welded hydraulic cylinders (not tie rod units like what LP supplies) and the hoses for about what the cost of the manual adjusters are. And even though you only have 3 sets of rear remotes, it is still easier to plug-unplug hoses to move the offset than it is to move that heavy unit back and forth to offset.

I can get you that 4th rear remote for $649, or a 4th & 5th for $920.

Great info.

What would be the lead time for the offset and angle hydraulic cylinders? PM me if you'd rather.

What do you think about the cushion valve idea?

As is my habit, I've waited until I have a deadline looming to make the final purchase decision. I like to think about certain things as long as possible and sometimes it can be a problem.

I have a new building to backfill in about 2 weeks and would rather do it myself and save myself a bunch of money towards the new blade while I do it.

For now I'll hold off on the additional rear remotes (got way more going on than I can deal with) but it's only a matter of time until I get at least one more rear remote.

What do you think about the cushion valve idea? Good idea for careless people, I have not needed any in the 8 years that I have had my RBT45108.

Brian, any pics available for your welded cylinders for the rbt?

And do you have the needed measurements for the rbt3584 as if I order one I won't have it for a while.

Have the measurements, actually have the cylinders sitting here, I will get some pictures up tomorrow. These are 3.5" dia cylinders, 1.75dia rods and a 14" stroke with clevis ends that have 1" dia pins. These pin right on and are ready to go. ;)

Here are some 4" dia units on my blade. Yours will be the same style, just a bit smaller is all.

Brian,

If I were to by the rbt3584 with no angle or offset at all, would your kit come with the bolts (or pins?) I need to attach the cylinders? This place is miles from any hardware store.

Yes, the pins come with the cylinders. ;)

I wish mine had the welded cylinders. Besides being stronger, they are neater. And this coming from a guy who hasn't neated up his hoses. :duh:
