HP for landscape rake?

I am looking into buy a landscape rake. How much horsepower is required to pull a 5 or 6 foot rake? I have a Branson 2400H (24hp) and don't want to go too big. Will be using it to rake up depris (leaves, twigs, branches, some logs, rocks etc) and also smooth out my land after we build to prep for seed.

I have a 5' rake for my 21 hp B7500. Never had any problem pulling it. I expect that traction will be a bigger issue than horsepower.

They are not real bad horsepower hogs, but like most things it depending on several factors (hills, how/what you are grabbing, etc). I can pull a 5' on 23 hp without any real problems doing gravel, light brush and such. My big thing was I wanted to cover the tire tracks when I am working but not have it so big I can't fit easily between the trees.

I have a Woods LR72 6 foot on my 2400H. If you want to use it like a box blade and drag a full load of dirt your will spin out before running out of power. Other wise with the gauge wheels it works great for leveling my drive way.

I pull a 5' Woods LR with a 17 HP B1700...no problem at all...

I actually made some end plates and made it a "box rake" works amazingly well and does not leave any windrows of gravel debris etc...

If you do not have hydraulic top and tilt the gauge wheels will help...

VERY good point. top and tilt will make rake work much easier and faster but if you don't have T-n-T the gauge wheels will really help you and are worth the extra money.

I'm also looking for a landscape rake. Are you saying if you have top and tilt you don't need the gauge wheels? Or should I buy the gauge wheels anyway? I do have the top and tilt.

Kubota B2710 (23 hp IIRC) here for the landscape rake (6' Landpride). Never an issue with power although it could use some front end weight when I left the rake off the ground.

However, I do not suggest a landscape rake for twigs, branches, etc. They tend to get caught between the tines and are difficult to get out.

Mine has the gage wheels and I wouldn't consider one without the wheels!

Thanks for all the replies. There is a used Frontier 72" with wheels on craigslist for 500 or I can get a new TSC brand for 499 without wheels but I saw the TSC is made by tarter and they have a wheel kit but not sure how much.

For $500 with the wheels that's a decent deal if the tines are not bent out of shape - a wheel kit is $200 range I think - as others have said a wheel kit is great to have.
