Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

I don't have TNT but I would think that it might NOT be a good idea. I think there is a real possibility that the lower link pins might be subjected to a large amount of torqe and either the pins, or possibly the Pat's system might be damaged if the tilt was excessive.

Muhammad isn't selling/sending that "easy change" in international market, to other countries? "Order Online" means "you can order from anywhere in the world", no? I'd like to order this easy change system and a hydraulic toplink. If Muhammad doesn't do this, who can ship them to me by a courier mail?

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

I installed my Pat's system without either the U-bolts or the set screws. I just installed the shims to make it level. This allows the whole thing to twist a bit on the balls in the lift arms. I haven't had any problems tilting with it arranged this way. I frankly don't know the purpose of the parts I left out since mine always seems to self align to the pins of the implement just fine.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

Since this makes your lift arms slightly longer, are there any issues/problems with PTO shaft length?

Edit: Typo

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

Yes it did create a problem with my JD 4100 HST PTO shaft to my rotary brush cutter. If I allow the mower to go lower than perfectly level, as in going over a hump, the inner and outer PTO shaft shields will disengage and lose alignment. They are steel, and I have bent them up several times from trying to raise the mower when the shields are separated and not aligned. I had the problem even before Pat's system so I installed a PTO extender. That fixed the problem until I installed the system. My solution right now is to set the 3PH lift stop so the PTO shields stay together. Other more desirable solutions would be to replace the shields or get a 12" PTO extender.

I think you need a new, longer PTO shaft on your rotary cutter? The shaft extender seems like a bandaid fix with the real solution being a proper length shaft?

I have to get a longer drive shaft on my tiller, but the ease of the Pat's system makes that 20.00 to fix it, a no brainer.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

"Alignment of the tractor to the equipment is still an issue, but being able to drop the lower hitch arms and pick up the implement is nice. I'll have to make a couple of minor adjustments to get the system aligned properly - adjustment of the four set screws should take just a few minutes."

Use of the stabilizer arm Pat sells...or a home made version (as at least one TBNer has done) might make this task a bit easier.
Personally, I've found just getting pretty close with the links just lower then the implement pins works pretty well. If one just creeps back, the links tend to ride around the (implement) pin supports. Then, just raising the links finishes the job.
The only implement that really gave me grief was the rotary cutter. It normally took 20 minutes, levering, swearing and using even more abusive language to rig it to the tractor.
This system makes it much quicker and easier, but you do need to make sure the implement is on fairly level ground when you hitch it up.
Also, when you're ready to drop that implement, I've found it's best to raise the lower links (once the PTO and upper link are disconnected) a few inches to release the locking latches.

Although the instructions were vague, I had no trouble installing the units to the links. I did add lock washers to the set screw jam nuts however.
