Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

So, looking at the picture on the top of the thread, I can see that the tabs inside these mechanisms are probably spring-loaded right? When you raise the hitch, the pins push the tabs back, then the tabs snap back out to hold the pins in place at the bottom of the slot. Cool.

So, how do you then take an implement off of these? Is there some mechanism that allows you to push the tabs back and lock them so you can release an implement?

TIA,
Dave

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

there is a bolt that swings UNDER the tabs to hold them open. These are a good investment if you have to change implements even a few times during the week.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

I would really like to get Pat's Easy Change attachment, but I think I might have a problem. On my lift arms the ball joint bends right before the ball joint and this does not give anywhere near the 4 inches of straight bar that Pat's website says is needed for the system to fit. Being relatively new to CUTs, I wonder if I might be able to change out my lift arms for some that would work with Pat's system. Is there any downside to this? Or is there any other option I might have? BTW, I have a JD 4200.

Thanks

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

You could cut the box section off of Pats and the cut the ball section off of your lift arm and then weld the J hook part to your lift arm.

JerryG,
Welding is not a bad idea. Plus it gives me an excuse to buy a welder and learn to weld. Now for the age old debate, "Which is better? Stick or MIG?" I have already looked through some of those threads and after each comment I am ready to go with whatever that guy recommended. I will have to make my mind up somehow.

It depends on which you have available and / or which you are the best at. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Has anyone put these on a CK30? I only measure about 3.75 inches before the bend.

Has anyone put these on a JD 3720?

It doesn't look like the arm is long enough.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change System - Order Online!

I have a JD 4310 with about 0 (zero) inches of straight bar between the ball joint and the bend in the draft arms. Pat informed me that the Easy Change system would indeed work on my tractor. On advice of others who confirmed this I purchased the system last week. It does indeed work acceptably on my tractor. The opening is wide enough to accommodate the inward bend of my draft arms. However due to the bend I was not able to align the fore/aft alignment of the Pats coupler to the fore/aft axis of the tractor. It is close enough though that I can remove and attach implements easily. It does make changing implements much easier.
