I'm new to this forum, so apologies in advance if this is a mis-post.
I purchased a new Kubota BX25D locally two months ago, and decided today to "simply" remove the backhoe, (so I could try out the post hole digger).
I followed the instructions to the letter, engaging the swing arm lock pin, positioning the bucket, part lowering the stabiliser arms, then lifting the rear wheels slightly by lowering the arm.
The next step in the instructions are then to remove the two pins. But while the one on the left side slides out like with ease, the right side is stuck.
I've tried different levels of arm raising, I've tried shifting the arm left or right (there's a little bit of play even with the swing pin inserted), but it won't budge.
The dealer (Kentan, NSW, Australia) has been no help (apparently it's not convenient for them to support a customer on a Saturday morning), so I was hoping someone out there might know a trick or two to getting the darn thing out!
I've attached a photo of the offending pin
Thanks in advance,
Mike Gilliland

Mine is sometimes a little hard to remove. I often use the backhoe and press the ground to relieve pressure on the pin and sometimes even lift the stabilizer off the found and use the boom/bucket to lift and it will slowly slide out. My one buddy often has to tap his out as it is so tight. May want to add a little grease on the pin when you reinstall it.

You might try easing the tractor back or forward just a tiny fraction of an inch. It may not be binding up in an up-down direction; rather, it may be binding in a front-back direction.

I found it sweet irony that you are down under and your pic is upside down. ;)

I had exactly the same problem.
I use one of the stabilizers to slightly change the pressure/angle. If you get it just right - it will take all the pressure off the pin and it will slide right out or in as the case may be. I think I saw it explained in one of the Messick's Youtube videos on backhoe removal and install. Good luck.

Have someone try and pull the pin while you manipulate the tractor,,
"make sure they are clear of the stabilizers".

I take hold of the pin level and try to rotate the pin while I slowly raise/lower and/or swivel the boom. As soon as I can turn the pin I stop any movement and normally I can then pull it out. Sometimes a further tweak is necessary and I gage which way to move based on how easy it is to turn the pin. I find it difficult to use the stabilizers to relieve the load on the pins, so I just leave them few inches or so off the floor and only use the boom and swivel. If you are not on level ground it will be much more difficult. I always but a piece of plywood under the end to the dipper to give it extra support on ground or to keep it from marring up the concrete floor or trailer bed.

If your tractor sat outside at the dealer with hoe on, it is possible there is some corrosion and you may need to tap on the pin or use an extension on the pin lever (hole in the end of a Crescent wrench works good) to free it up. I use Permatex anti-seize grease on the pins.

Thank you for your suggestion everyone. I still haven't managed to remove the backhoe, but at least I now know that I'm not the first to struggle. Stonehaller could be right, the tractor was priced at a discount because it was an older model so perhaps it has suffered a bit from sitting outdoors (a little disappointing all the same). I think I'll have to get my dealer out to help, and once I get the backhoe off, I'll spend some time with Emery paper making sure that surfaces are smooth and apply some grease. Hopefully this will help things wear in a little (it looks so easy in the videos!).
Thanks again!

I had same issue at first. When it was so brand new - it took while before it became easy. all it takes is a hair movement on the hydraulics, you could be on a crooked ground and not know it. twist the offending pin while pulling. If you cannot twist the pin - its binded up so keep micro moving either the boom or stablizer(s). I try to twist the pin the same time when micro moving the stablizer and i can see if i went too far with in or out of it. dont stand next to hoe when micromoving the boom, all it takes is the wrong movement to get hurt esp. as a newbie.

:dance1:Flat, smooth, level concrete is your friend, when removing your backhoe or loader. :dance1:

I vote for a bxpanded dolly. Makes it much easier to remove. Play with the hoe and stabilizers and you will get the hang of it.
