Hi, I have a 46hp LS XR4046 on the way. Do I go with a 60" or 72" Grapple Bucket? Main use will be removing logs from woodlots & General clean up.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I went with a 60" on my Kioti from MIE.Error
Don't know why it says error but the link still works.

I went with the 60" also for the Montana, which is the same as your tractor just an 09 with the Mitsubishi engine (and of course it's green). It doesn't cover the tire width but I have found that just doesn't matter with a grapple. The weight is more of a concern especially if you are lifting logs or other heavy items it allows you that little extra lifting capacity!

I use a 60" on my 7520 to move logs and trimmings and uproot brush in woods and semi cleared areas. I have never wanted it to be wider and frequently wished it were narrower to improve nimbleness and positioning options.

I have a 73 inch grapple on my L4600 it works fine but I think I would rather have a 60 inch but would want dual clamps the larger grapple is very heavy

I have a 73 with dual clamps on my Kubota 60 horse and if I had it to do over would get a smaller lighter one as the one I have weighs about a thousand pounds which limits the size log you can pick up, Luckily I have a larger tractor also.

Curious ... why are 2 clamps needed? I have just a narrow one in the center. What superior function am I losing?

I went with a 60" single lid for my R4047. Seems to be a good matchup.

Careful. Its easy to get into the logical progression to the effect that - "If a little is good more is better, and too much is just right."
