Just got a Titan 3pt hitch skid steer plate that is drilled for Cat 2. Picked up some Cat 2 to Cat 1 bushings at Rural King. Since I don't have any Cat 2 implements and don't plan to buy any, I'd like to have the bushings permanently installed. Should I do a couple of tack welds or is there a better solution?

Thanks,

Not sure of what your asking but will bushings fall out if not welded in place or do they need to pivot for hook up?

Sorry, should have been clearer. The bushings will fall out if not welded. I also have a set of bushing that are 1 1/8" (vs. 1") that I could grind down and press in. Not sure it matters, just didn't know if there is a preferred method.

Thanks,

Are you talking the balls on the tractor to have the bushing or the implement pins? If implement pins, just replace with Cat 1 pins unless it is the double bar type with long pins thru.

Like this?

Make sure your changes will allow for clevis-mount implement pins as well as single-mount pins.

Short answer. Yes, tack welding a bushing would work.

I've done similar when converting a CAT 1 to a CAT 2. But I bought CAT 3 to CAT 2 bushings then plasma cut the CAT 1 holes to take the CAT 3 to CAT 2 bushings and welded them in. Opposite of what you want to do.

EDIT: Or as Gary Fowler states, just buy CAT 2 lift pins for the implement(s) you intend to use on the front of your tractor. Wouldn't think there would be too many. Maybe a rake, blade, or bale spear. I have a rear fork attachment that would work on the front as well.

I have a similar three point adapter with cat 2 holes. It has more rollback built in, than the Titan.

The bushings can't fall out when in use and I store them in the hole with the cat 1 pin, when not in use.

Here is my setup - the Meyer snowplow. I'm just using a Cat 2 pin in the top link. But in the second picture you can see the Cat link pin doesn't fit snugly in the lower arm. The bushi8ngs I've found locally are 1 1/8" OD. The holes on the plate seem to be more like 1 1/16". Sent a note to Titan (via their Web site) asking for a source of bushing that will fit, but never got a reply. Anyone know of a source for bushings that might fit?

Thanks

You need to press fit some bushings in that plate.
