Any members out there who own a. Woodmaxx hydrolac feed chipper ever had any problems with the feed rollers not turning?
Woodmaxx thinks it may be the high pressure relief valve is malfunctioning and is sending a replacement. My machine is almost new with probably less than 20 hours total usage.

I have about as many hours and mine works fine.

I assume you have checked fluid levels, water contamination, obvious signs of a foreign object jamming the rollers, and have set the speed to something above minimum? Mine won't turn under about 30% of the max setting. I'm assuming you didn't accidentally bend the safety bar and valve lever.

You don't give a lot of info so I'm just guessing here. I'm assuming you have ruled out the belt to the pump slipping or being loose?

What have you tried and are there any obvious symptoms like unusual noises or vibrations?

December in Michigan. Is water in the hydro fluid a possibility blocking all flow? The cap is well vented, so pressure washing the tank could easily splash water in. Maybe even a heavy rain if its stored outside.

What fluid did you us--the cheapest 8 gallons of hydro fluid that you can find that is thick as molasses in December below freezing, or thinner stuff?

When was the last time you used it? Warm weather?

Thanks for the suggestions. After replacing the high pressure relief valve the unit was still inop so Woodmaxx then suggested, and sent, a new spool valve. Still no progress towards a solution so they are shipping out a whole new pump today.
As far as hydrolac fluid, we filled the unit with the exact recommendation from Woodmaxx and when not in use the unit is stored inside.
The Woodmaxx Chipper is perfect for our use in maintaining fence rows and thinning the wood lot. I must say, Woodmaxx has bent over backwards in their concern and response to our phone calls and sending warranty replacement parts. Looking forward to getting back in the woods.

I have the same unit and ran into a problem like this while chipping last winter. What I figured out is the pump had shifted loosing the drive belt slightly so the pump was not being driven as it should. The pump base has slotted holes with bolts through them. I loosened the bolts and shifted the pump and tightened up the tension on the drive belt. Works as new now.

We investigated that possibility but not the problem. Woodmaxx has shipped out a new pump that should arrive today.

Just in case it helps someone, I had the same problem, and the cause was a clogged hydraulic filter. During the 2 years I've owned the chipper, a few ounces of water had gotten into the hydraulic tank and caused some sludge to build up. After replacing the hydraulic fluid and filter, it runs like new. Woodmaxx ought to include checking the filter in their troubleshooting section. Cheers.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will include it in my manual.:)
