I'm looking for a way to clean my driveway/entrance...a total of about 750' x 12' of old/uneven asphalt. I have sticker shock for the price of a rotary broom w/ rear hydraulic power pack (rotary brooms appear to need at least 12-13 GPM hydraulic flow and my JD has only 8.3). Push brooms are less expensive but still pricey (about $3500) and it looks like the rotary broom setup would be at least $6k. Anyone have experience with a push broom and how it would compare with a rotary broom?

What are you cleaning off the driveway? Why a broom? Maybe a blower would do it.

Mostly gravel, small stones, dirt from other washed out driveways...close to a bush public road...blower could be a hazard

What about a front-mounted, PTO-driven rotary broom?

I have many hours running a Rotary broom and they work very well.
I never tried a push broom, but have my doubts that they work very well.

how would a blower be a hazard? If your thinking of dust a blower won't be near as bad as a broom
