In looking over equipment ads, I noticed that Landscape Pulverizers are often said that they can act as a soil aerator, rake and small box blade. Have any of you had any experience with these? I have a bit over three acres (1 1/2 in lawn ) that I would like to use a core aerator, but if this would do the job... and a few other things so much the better

these tools perpare the soil for seeding, by breaking up clogs of dirt and smoothing the surface. The rods that do the clog breaking are too short to punch hole to air the soil.

I have a pulverizer and use it alot. There prefect for making a seed bed. It works about 1" deep so a primary seeder will make good contact with the soil. It will also level the ground at the same time, the 10" I beam (frame of the unit) is close to the ground so high spots are moved to lower places. It also brings the mosure the the soil to the top. The spikes on the roller are about 1 1/2" long. To me that is all there good for. Now that I have one I'll always keep it for this task.

I borrowed a pulverizer last year when I was finishing a two acre brush to lawn project. It does something a bit different from a box blade or a landscape rake: it pulverizes the soil. It does a great job at it, too! But you can't really grade with it, and you can't depend on it to windrow rocks, or anything like that, so it can't replace the other implements you mentioned.

Thanks for the information, I thought that it might be to good to be true (one implement that would replace all of the others). It still sounds like something that I might want to look into and possibly get in the future.
