Does anyone have any experience with Titan's 6 ft. 3 PTH backhoe system. I would like to get a backhoe for my Ford 1710 tractor and don't want to spend a fortune for no more than I would use it. My property is quite remote and I don't want to get into renting one.

The ansung is twice the money of the Titan. I also don't need the pump.

I think 2X is a bit generous, the 6' Ansung is $3895 shipped vs 2735... 140% vs 200%... but I was simply throwing another option out there which I believe still has a GREAT price point but higher quality. The Titan also includes a hydraulic thumb, which is a fairly $ option. The Ansung is a bit lighter but to me looks better engineered. The Ansung is a common design and used on some production tractors, from what I understand. If you look at the construction, the overall geometry and engineering seems more applicable to actual hoes than a home-built unit... like the tapered stick on the Ansung looks much better engineered and heavier duty versus the rectangular tube steel on the Titan.

On the really cheap Chinese backhoes, I've heard hydraulic fluid contamination can be an issue, so even though I have hydraulics on my tractor (of course), the PTO pump seemed like a better option.

Either route, don't forget the costs associated with building a subframe... I would not operate a 3-point backhoe without one.

Hopefully some Titan backhoe owners will chime in!

I bought a 3 pt. 6 foot backhoe from Liberty Implements this past summer. I was surprised at the quality and did quite a bit of work with it and no problems. You can google, they have a nice website.

"Hey Lutzy48,

I just ran across this thread and was wondering if you ended up ordering the backhoe? Like ishiboo, I was hoping some of our backhoe owners would have chimed in as well. We have a lot of them out there “in the trenches” working every day. If you or any other users have questions or suggestions about the backhoe we always appreciate the feedback."

do you offer a sub frame for you backhoe?

We currently do not offer a sub-frame. Our backhoe is compatible with sub-frames for people that still want to use a frame however, The hydraulic outriggers on our backhoe were developed to provide stability, so the backhoe does not require a sub-frame.

Craig, I'm looking for a BH... The price on the Titan BK215 and 7' BH's is very attractive, but I can't find any bucket or dipperstick forces listed... Just wondering if you could provide them so I can see how they compares to the other options...
Thanks!

Just an FYI, I got bucket and dipperstick forces for the BK215 from Titan. (They sent me the manual) Bucket force 2592lbs, dipperstick force 1975lbs. Lowest of the hoes I have data on. (Titan, are you listening? The BH looks structurally sound, get the supplier to use slightly larger cylinders and get these numbers up!)

I have a spreadsheet of backhoe choices, and the BK215 is actually a couple hundred pounds lower for both forces than the FHM backhoe, commonly available on Ebay. I suppose the dipperstick numbers don't vary by a whole lot, but bucket forces range quite a bit.

Also worth noting that the Branson backhoe is made by Ansung, and very likely just painted different. Branson must be using slightly more pressure to it, or measuring differently. I included it because that's the hoe I could get locally...

It appears to me that bang for the buck, Woodmaxx is probably a good choice. Their price does include the pump and tank, so if they come out with a version that runs off the tractor, it should be cheaper...
