Default Newb here with a vintage Towner disc harrow

I have zero tractor experience and just bought one (Ford 1910). It came with this Towner offset disc harrow. Has square bolts so its definitely got some age to it

First problem is, how does this thing go back together? It was taken apart for transit but my memory is failing me about how it went together

Second, is an implement like this something that gets attached to a drawbar or 3pt? Can you raise and lower it on the 3pt?

Finally, I was told that it would be a good idea to make some passes with this disc first on virgin ground, then go over that with the rototiller I also have. If the ground is soft enough though, could I just go with the rototiller alone?

Inventory of the Floyd Hal Higgins Collection is a link to an archive collection of Towner literature in California. Starts with box 154 and folder 23

Well that is interesting, thanks, but is it available online? I found that the Towner info is in Box/Folder: 56:71. At the top it says "No online items". I suppose I could drive to Davis actually haha

You have an archive available 80 miles away where brochures and pictures are available and you want them online? Heck my dealer is that far away.

From doing some research, I think this type of disc had a chain or rope to adjust the angle offset (I think to change it to zero angle to make turns). Also, I now realize this is clearly for drag use only. So how does that work? You transport it first to the area you want to disc and then attach it or just attach it and disc up whatever is in your path getting to your destination

You saw my Towner offset disc in a few of the threads that were posted earlier in this thread. It's not meant to be transported from one field to another very easily. I just park it at the edge of my 7 acre hayfield and hook it up to the drawbar on my 2008 Mahindra 5525 tractor to plow the field in early October.

You're right about the pull rope to change offset angle.
