I purchased my B6200 used from an old farmer. It came with a 48" Kubota B222 snowblower. The blower had a 3pth mount that appeared to be something cobbled up from spare parts. The pto shaft is running at about 30 degrees which I think is far too steep. I'm going to redo the 3pth and get a new drive shaft. What would be acceptable for angles on the u-joints? 15 degrees or less or upto 20. I also haven't been able to find any info on this blower, does anyone know if it is a 3pt mount blower or is it a front mount? When removing the old 3pth mount it looked like there was brackets for what looked like a front mount system. What is the difference between a front mount and a rear mount blower? is the fan on a front mount blower lower (mine is centered 10" above the ground) or is there a second gearbox to lower the fan and auger speeds etc? the pto shaft leaves the blower at about 10" above ground and the tractor pto is 19" from the ground.

Roy, the manual for my 3pt blower is at home, so I can't look at it now, but I think I remember it staying something about 20 degrees as the maximum angle.

As for the differences between a front and a rear mount blower, I am far from an expert, but I would assume the blower assembly would be the same, the mount would be completely different. The front mount blowers I looked at run off the mid-pto and are held in place by a special sub-frame. The blowers look to be construction essentially the same way as rear mount blowers. I would assume that if you have the ability to build a subframe mount and bought a long PTO shaft to run from the mid-pto, you could convert to front mount.

Roy, A big difference between front and rear mounted blowers is the PTO speed. My midmount PTO spins at 2500 RPM's and the rear is 540. Does the impeller fan (thing that throws the snow) directly in line with the PTO shaft? or does it get geared down with a chain and sprocket setup? If its direct from the shaft than its a rear mount if geared down than it was once a front mount. How big is the impeller fan? Larger most times means rear blower as well.

I do not know the model #, but my BiL bought a front mount & converted it to rear mount - did a nice job, which surprised me! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyhow, these small Kubota's have multiple rear pto speeds, and I believe the mid-pto is ~1000rpm, so it works out.

How that relates to your model, please don't assume anything....
