More than likely purchasing one next week.

Anyone had any direct contact/used one of these? Like to hear some pros and cons. (operating use issues)

We have a 606TN pull-type and have been thoroughly impressed. What are your plans for it? Any reason you are choosing the 3pt vs pull-type? The biggest advantage to the 3pt are the maneuverability and trailerability. The wheels are just a hair too wide to drive the tractor and drill on a 102" trailer. I think the pull-type better follows the contours of the ground and is more effective planting while turning (in a large radius). The 3pt's have a tendency to push dirt with the openers leaving an inconsistent planting depth and and packing.

The 3 pt 606NT after a year of use has it's ups and downs. I do get occasional bare spots. When you lift at the end of a run to turn you lose some seed. Lastly changing the depth wheel SUCKS there has to be a better way! I plant everything from Clover to SunHemp to beans and corn to small grains the depth wheel is really my only complaint oh and the cost :)

For tight spots and trailer-ing. a 3pt is the way to go.

I just purchased a used 606NT, although it's the tow model, not 3-pt.
Other than the hydraulic capacity needed to hoist the 3-pt, what minimum tractor size would you say is needed for pulling the 606NT up hills, soft ground, etc? We are considering a Deere 4520 (60hp), but it only weighs a bit under 5K lbs with loader and filled rears

I actually have the same question. So I guess I will revive an old thread.

The website for landpride says the 606nt needs a 40 up minimum. Has anyone tried to pull with a 40 hp tractor?

I have a jd 990 and is claimed at 40 hp with an actual of 38.5.
