I've been shopping for pallet forks. One challenge I've encountered is finding a pair of forks that slightly exceeds the capacity of my FEL but doesn't weigh a whole lot. It's easy to find forks with a 4000 lb. capacity that weigh over 400 lbs. Not so easy to find some that have a 2,500-3,000 lb capacity and weigh about 300 lbs.

I found a couple of options at Titan Attachments (http://palletforks.com), including one that can double as 3-prong bale spear. They seem to have a favorable shipping policy and a good price. Obviously every company has the occasional problem, but does Titan Attachments generally have good quality and good customer service?

Thanks,
Chris

Do a search here and on Google. I've posted a few poor reviews on Titan in other threads, so this is probably the last one I'll do. My soapbox is getting tired of supporting my slightly overweight *** :)

Some of those who had issues found monetary resolution, as did I. I'm still relatively displeased with the entire transaction and would never consider purchasing from them. Their customer service interaction is not a very efficient process and they were not exactly flattering with their initial offers. They are simply a company that imports products from China, then ships them to their paying customers. They are middlemen, probably nothing more. If they have any direct influence on product design or engineering, I would love to see that evidence. It is my belief that they have little, or possibly no quality assurance prior to shipping. When you see pics of some of their products with issues, you'll notice poor welds, and major alignment issues. The SSQA bracket on my forks were a full 7/8" off before I finally got around to fixing it. There are quite a few people who have not had issues with Titan rebranded products, you may be one of them. I dismissed most of the bad reviews and decided to take the chance on them. My lesson is to never buy container company products unless I can see them first hand, and even then will completely avoid Chinese products.

Have you seen these?

Yes, I have. I like Everything Attachments—their videos have been indispensable in helping me work out which implements would work out well. This particular model has a capacity of only 2,000 lbs. my loader has a capacity of 2,500 lbs (at the pins, granted), so I was looking for something in the 2,500-3,000lbs. range so that if I can use the full capability of my loader without damaging the forks.

I'm also a bit leery of shipping charges on a ~300lb item, as Cheyenne is about 1,500 miles from Newton, NC, though I didn't call to check since I didn't see any EA pallet forks with the capacity/weight characteristics I'm looking for.

Am I off base with my criteria?

Thanks,
Chris

I use my 36'' Titan forks with home-made carriage just about everyday, no problems here, even abused a few times too!`

Just got some lightweight Titan clamp on forks. They work great and the quality for the price greatly surprised me. Couldn't believe they were shipped for free. BTW I purchased from Titan's eBay store.

It seems that Everything Attachments has introduced a couple of new models of pallet forks in the past few days. They have one that has a 2200lb. capacity and weighs only 260lbs. On paper, that's the best specs I've seen in terms of capacity vs. weight for my tractor. There's a heavier version, too. It turns out that shipping is quite a bit less expensive than I'd thought it might be. With how helpful their videos have been, I'd been hoping to give them some business.

Thanks for the input!

I never worry about freight charges on a quality product that may well
Last for generations. Cost divided out over 50 years is minimal.....

I picked up a set of Titan 4000# clamp on forks off of eBay and so far no issues other than what I didn't do right. I am going to add some form of adjustable cross brace to eliminate the tendency of the fork shifting on the bucket.
