I picked this up at an auction today. I move around lots of firewood. This looks like it'll come in handy.

Cool! Looks perfect for moving the wood around.

I have never heard it called that. I have ween them called dump boxes. They use them a lot in Europe to move thing (dirt, gravel) on tractors that don't have front loaders. May I ask how much you were able to get it for? Anyway, nice score!

Chuck if it was mine I would straighten that bent in section a bit, and get 3 or 4 cans of rusty metal primer, and 3 or 4 cans of Rusteoleum "Lobster Red" which is a near perfect match for your Kioti, and make it pretty.:)

Nothing is bent on it Jim, The dumper works well too. I hear you about the Rustoleum. There is quite a bit of surface rust, understandably for its age, but no rust through. I'll get a few years out of it. I'm thinking of getting rustoleum's rust reformer. Then I'll go with the lobster red.
I loaded it up with firewood, calculated it would hold .4 cords when stacked. Really speeds up the firewood.

I live in Traphill and those were made about 2 miles from my home. Company was small and has closed down now. Haven't heard of one in several years but were quite popular around here.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for sharing that info.

I found these using my google-fu: a dumping scoop - picts. - Yesterday's Tractors
[What he has to say about its capacity and usefulness is pretty cool.]

Unfortunately the posts are so old that the picture links are unusable.

These are more better:

Again, nice score!

PS: We have a FEL and transporting dirt in that is a pain because it takes so many trips. Our HF utility trailer is almost as bad and difficult to unload without just flipping it over,so when as I was searching "Tractor Dump Boxes" I came across this, it's got me thinking about making one to use on our 3-point hitch to move dirt and gravel around our little piece of heaven... :
