Did a lot of searching and still haven't found my "answer".

I'm looking for a way to temporarily install a "trenching" tool on the offset side of my front bucket to dig retaining wall footer.

I looked into rachet rake's trencher and it seems pretty **** expensive. I don't need to dig super deep, maybe just a foot or so.

I saw some guy use a come-along with a piece of 3x3 angle. Looked like it worked ok.

Any other ideas?

Middle buster on the 3pt hitch? Not sure what to use to attach to the bucket.

I wouldn't use a trenching bucket on the side of a loader, they are designed to be placed in the center. Of course a larger machine would handle it better than a smaller one, but you don't list your equipment. How deep are you digging? The deeper you go, the longer you will need and the more leverage it will have on the bucket.

If you insist on doing it, it's pretty easy to strap just about anything to the bucket... you could just weld two angles together or buy some channel, and ratchet strap it to the bucket or bolt.

Can you say bent loader?

Just rent a ditch witch. I paid $125 for a 30" x6" machine including trailer. Dug 550 feet long 18" deep in 45 min. Had it back before they even finished entering the rental paperwork.
