I have an old 350 sickle I am trying to get running on a Kubota 4050. The lift mechanism clevis pin is to big for the hole in the drawbar, as well as being too far away for a proper hookup. Is there any reason why I couldn't simply put a big chain clevis on the drawbar, run the chain from the clevis through it, and get a good enough lift for the little bit of mowing I want to use it for?

You might but there is a lot of strain on that chain. Have you got the manual for it? Also you need to allow your drawbar to freely swing side to side as the lift chain doesn't lift straight up. Don't know why the lift clevis doesn't fit as its a cat 1 pin. The manual will have the setup for the mower. I found that it wasn't as straight forward as I thought.

Thank you. Yes I've got the manual. I've got the drawbar swung over and could lift to get it lined up but the pin is too big. Looks like a stock lift chain bracket. I'm imagining the bracket catching in the chain Clevis and initiating the lift.
Another thought was just to scrap the whole mechanism and putting a cylinder on it.
