Is the Frontier RB2308 (8') too much blade for a NX6010? It has all three hydraulic functions, so I would need a 3rd remote.

I am concerned it's going to be way too much blade for my tractor.

Your tractor will handle it fine. You may need to load your tires to get better performance from the tractor. The downfall of that blade is that you can only get 19" of offset with it and if you are cleaning out ditches, that often is not enough.

An electric diverter will be the easiest way to get that 3rd outlet that you need.

Post pics if-when you get it.

Thanks MtnView. I have 2 remotes but they are not installed yet, I will buy the third factory remote and put them all in at once. I'll see how often I use the blade, the only thing is I had planned on having a hydraulic toplink from you.

I almost never use my rear blade, in fact the one I had I sold with my last tractor... used it 3 times in the last year for clearing some minor snow when my skid loader with snow plow was borrowed out. I guess with a bigger heated tractor I might try it again for snow removal, but I found a front blade MUCH better on my L3650. I use my box blade for everything. I do not really have much ditch work to do, I have to even mine out a bit but the 19" offset should be plenty. The biggest thing is I want a blade with tilt so I can create some drainage swales, and then the offset will allow me to pull the hilled material away so I can move it elsewhere. (The box blade has only as much tilt as the 3-point, and leaves the material immediately next to the swale, so it's hard to move without screwing up the swale)

I may be wrong, but I think that Kioti does not offer the 3rd rear remote. Yes you can get it, by getting another 2nd remote and then getting longer through bolts, but I believe that this is not a Kioti option. Eric had to do this on his tractor. The slot is there, but that 3rd rear remote is not an official Kioti option. This would be the way to go, I just suggested the diverter if you didn't want to go through the trouble., Besides, then you can get the 5 rear remotes that you need. You know, for "T&T" and the 3 for the rear blade.

Depending on what all you have to do, but I believe that you will find that you will use a "GOOD" rear blade a lot more than you thought.

I'm not sure exactly how my rear blade compares to the 2308, but I have an 8' landpride rbt4096 with the 3 way hydraulics, it weighs between 1,000-1,0lbs with the hydraulics included and I'm pulling it with a Kubota L series tractor and filled rear tires. My tractor ballasted with the FEL on weighs right about 6k lbs.

I absolutely love the blade for snow removal and my little tractor handles it admiraly. When using it in dirt I can't take too big of a bite but I mostly only use it for more finish work than anything. For rough work I use the box blade.

I prefer the rear blade to the front blade for snow removal because I use my bucket a lot for moving snow as well (some of the few times I don't have the grapple on).

Having the blade angled cuts down on the width quite a bit and still covers my tracks. With the RX6010 I think your tractor would handle a similar size blade even better. I also use chains.

Here are a couple pics of my setup I explained in my previous post.

Also, I leave my tilt cylinder on the blade in float all the time, this allows the blade to tilt with the terrain and stops it from digging in one corner when I'm transitioning from anything not perfectly flat. It keeps the blade in contact with the ground all the time.

I also set my skid shoes so my blade is about a half inch or so off the ground when my 3 point hitch is down, and my top link cylinder is mid stroke. Then, I put my top link in float as well and this allows me to change the cutting angle (which also brings the blade lower or higher) as I adjust my 3 point hitch.

I think having these abilities is the reason I really like the rear blade for snow removal. Without the ability to float the tilt cylinder It wouldn't be nearly as effective for my situation.

Oh Ya, a top link cylinder is pretty much a necessity for me, you'll certainly want that 3rd (and fourth if you get a hydraulic blade) remote.

Looks pretty close. My tires are not loaded (I am on heavy clay, want to minimize turf damage and compaction) so I'll probably be around the same weight as you. I would be using it primarily for dirt, if I can't really take a bite I am not sure what the purpose of such a heavy duty blade would be... for snow and a tiny bit of dirt work it seems like a cheap KK blade would do just fine. :(

Ugh.

Once you use that 1100lb blade, you'll understand. When you guys say bite, just how much are you thinking? I'm cutting 1" in the picture. Not sure what you think a good bite is? :confused3:

Same blade width, much larger/heavier tractor? :)

Ok. I'll get it. Worst case scenario I'm out 2 grand and stuck with it :p

No, actually a 9' blade, and yes a 12,000lb tractor. But I am hoping to get in the not to far future a 900lb 7' blade for my 5000lb 32hp tractor. I know that I had a 680lb 8' blade for my big tractor for a couple of years, and while it worked ok, nothing like this Land Pride RBT45108 does.

Why would you be stuck with it? I would think that you could sell it and get that amount for it easily, that is a good price for that blade with all 3 hydraulic adjustments.

There have been a couple of TBN members with your size or smaller tractors get 1000lb+ 8' rear blades and had VERY GOOD luck with them. I can't see why you would be any different. Grading becomes almost a joy when using 1000lb implements.
