JD 4310
Greetings! This is my first post here and I am hoping to get some help. I have a JD 4310 eHydro with iMatch I bought from a JD dealer a couple summers ago with about 55 hours on it. Ever since it was delivered, my brand new LX6 brush cutter has never been level. The dealer has no helpful answers despite my repeated inquires. Before I hook the cutter up to the tractor, it lays flat and true on the ground with no obvious bends or warping (I thought the cutter was warped for the longest time). The iMatch hitch is straight and level and all adjustable linkages are symmetric with same adjustments on each side. The cutter goes on flawlessly. It is when I go to raise the cutter that the problem becomes most obvious; the left side comes up first and it is not until the left side is 4+ inches off the ground that the right side starts to come up. When fully off the ground, the right side sags dramatically. When I mow my lawn/pasture, instead of having a beautifully manicured field of green, I have all these nasty half-moon divots every time I turn to the right or when I go past a slightly eleven spot where the edge of the cutter digs in. I finally got fed up with status quo this afternoon and decided to write you. Also of note, was the fact that last fall, for my end-of-the-season mowing, I made adjustments to the lift links so that the implement would cut level. The only problem with that is when I went to remove the cutter to use my spray rig, everything was so out of wack that the cutter would not disengage from the hitch without returning all settings back to level. There has got to be an answer or problem here that I am not seeing. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Just taking guesses here but has it got anything to do with tire pressure. Maybe one tire is letting that side down when the weight is applied to the tractor but looks fine when no weight is on it.

Do your arms come up at the same time while raising with no attachments?

Measure each draft arm to ensure they are the same length. There should be a turnbuckle setup to adjust. Also some tractors have one draft arm with a slotted pin hole which will allow movement. There maybe a round pin hole near it. Its all very simple to sort out. If all else fails revert to operators manual.

Adding to what tonyoz has so kindly added,

1. if you have a 4 foot level place it on the lower link arms
and raise the them and then lower them.checking for level.
If you have a wide hitch plate that connects to the lower link
arms you can do it that way too.

2. attach the I match and repeat the level test.

3. its either weak steel on the mower or the rigth lower link arm
was attached at the wrong point on the right spline.

Chances are the dealer did not bother to check the units lower link arms for level and just
delivered the unit to you without double checking it for operation after it was
assembled and the I match and mower were attached to it.

be sure that your mules right lower link is
fully extended as it sounds as if the lower link is retracted. make sure the arm is either
fully cranked out or the last hole in the lower link arm adjustment is at the same place
that the left arm is in.

Do not forget that the I match quick hitch is only going to amplify any wracking or tortion
because of the balls that are in both the lower link arms.

The only other actual problem is the steel on the mower is too thin which is a definite probability.

Interesting problem, is there more than one hole in the lower lift arms, and are the side links hooked in matching holes on the lower lift arms? Interested in knowing the outcome to this one, gotta be a solution, I doubt that it's a problem with the metal on the cutter stretching.

My 4300JD has slotted holes in the lift arms. There are odd shaped washers to eliminate the play in these slots if you wish. Could be that one side is set to use the slot but the other is not....You just reverse the washers to use the slot....or not.

Attaching some pictures would be helpful OP.

I'm in agreement with the tire pressure thought, as I have run into this myself :(

Does your tractor have external lift cylinders on the 3 point arms? Are they both lifting at the same rate?

Welcome to TBN!
