How much do you guys charge per acre for shredding. I know what I charge and lets just say my price depends...

I ask because I bid a job this weekend and the guy acted like I was asking for his firstborn and his wife too.

Oh well, I thought I was fair but I may rethink my bid based on what you guys say.
The property in question is a fairly flat, no trash but heavily weeded (1 to 4 feet tall) 7 acres. About 5 power poles along one side to work around and a fence to get near on the other.

what do ya think?

I do some with my L4240 HSTC and 6ft.Landpride but only if I can drive the tractor there.$75.00/HR ,I really don't want the work but if they ask, that's the price.

I have an hourly rate for some jobs and I bid others and I have a 2 hour minimum. I have had people squawk about the minimum. My rate is $65 per hour so it's $130 for the smaller jobs. I never argue with a customer except for one occasion and he wouldn't let it go that he thought I was over charging him. The piece he wanted shredded, when I finally did the job took me about 55 minutes from loading up, travel, unload, shred, load up, travel and unload. The reason I said, "when I finally did the job" is because he tried to get someone to do it on the cheap. After a couple of 300 and up quotes, he decided my price wasn't so bad after all. While he argued with me, I pointed out (which I never do) that I was bringing close to $80,000 worth of equipment to his job and I thought 130 bucks was pretty cheap.

Anyway, just trying to get a feel for what might be an average rate.

And PS,
I have gotten chastized by a few of the other operators around here for being so cheap so this year I went up from 50 to 65 dollars an hour.
