Check it out. This is almost 7 inches of serrated, laminated, laser cut and unobstructed Wicked Grapple tine that is ready to tear up some roots.

So these look to me to be two totally different designs (the LP SGC06 and the EA Wicked). I don't think its fair to directly compare the two for weight or maybe even price. To me the LP SGC06 would be great for picking logs and bigger rocks. The EA Wicked has a lot longer tines that would allow you to grab a lot more brush and as travis mentioned the 7" tine protrusion is perfect for digging roots. So it depends on what your needs are. I personally think the longer tines and longer protrusion from the bar offer a lot more flexibility.

In my opinion the LP SGS line is more comparable to the EA Wicked. Those are really the two that I was choosing between. Don't get me wrong, I love LP quality. I have their rake, back blade, box blade and brush hog. But I went with EA when it came to the grapple. They were a lot cheaper when looking at the SGS vs. the Wicked and I just think they aced the design process. watch the video on their site, I don't know how you couldn't be sold.

Here's another grapple that is stronger than bull, and very capable for logs, rocks, etc., and is light weight and compact. I pickup whole length trees with it on a regular basis. It is one of my best implements, along with Igland of Norway's winch, (model 4001).
There is almost no way you would bend any tines, because there are the two bottom legs and the single looped top grab claw.

Just one of many suppliers. Price may be varied, possibly less.

Just my experience, but of the two style grapples I've found that I could pick up one large log at a time with the clamshell style, where as with the "L" shaped grapple I could pick up multiple logs. I find the "L" shape style is better at picking up logs.

I've never had an issue picking them from a pile with the "L" shape either :confused3:

Hey Max,
I replied to your PM (my reply was rather lengthy) but I don't think it went through???

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that the "L" style wouldn't pick up logs (or even more logs), My thinking is that the SGC06 would be more limited and the "L" style more useful. Thanks for pointing that out.

Has any body put a Land Pride SGC0660 grapple on a kubota LA403 FEL.
And if so what experience did you have!?
I'm looking at one for my Kubota B3030 with a LA403 FEL

Here's one of the reasons that I would not want a grapple like the LP SGC.
This isn't a LP, but the design is very similar. Those grapples just look awkward to me with very poor visibility when installed on a tractor.

With this design, you can see what you're doing. The little 23hp Bobcat gets it done!
