Here's mine... it was his first Craig's list post. He had other things to sell, and I told him what he should list it for, pricewise.

Billion seeder

Link will die soon... I replied to his ad with " I'll give you $120"

If it's in working order you should be charged with theft. :) Congrats on the find.

It's rusted through at the bottom of the seeder. I was mainly looking at it for a cultipacker, which I think will work just fine. Once I saw that it had 2 sets of rollers, I was feeling a little guilty so I gave him $160!

Great guy, talked with him for over an hour... hearing about his life. Real interesting to me to hear about his life/work around Raleigh. He bought this in the 70's - got into putting in yards and golf courses around town. Then moved into land grading/road building business.

These are my latest score, I got four without the plastic container for $25 ea. They were $40 ea with the container if I remember correctly.

Looking to score those, too  Every once in a while they get listed for that price here.

I paid $340 for this Quincy 12 CFM two stage compressor with 5HP 220V single phase motor and magnetic starter.

I got this Pronovost 64" blower with original paint intact for $750. I don't know for sure, but judging by the complete lack of wear, I'd say it was used for one season at most. I've since farmer-engineered an electric chute rotator and a hydraulic deflector.

Craigslist is certainly hit and miss. Got my 8' Frontier for $2000 which I thought was a fairly good price, it's a very heavy-duty blade.

These babies I actually ran into in person at the local Habitat first, but then I later saw they were on Craigslist. Priced at $20 a piece, it was 50% off cabinets day... got 22 for $220.

And in workbench form:

I have to laugh at the labels on that:

1. IBC Return Program - Or sell them.
2. Part 1. DO NOT MIX WITH PART 2.

Seeing how its full of firewood, I'm guessing part 2 is fire?

I've posted several of my craigslist scores here in the past 2 or 3 years... two most notable purchases were a Leinbach post hole digger (not much wear on it) for $220 a couple years ago, then last year a 5ft Ro-Cut bush hog (nice shape but missing the front half of the PTO shaft) along with a TSC 5ft box blade (very nice shape but missing three rippers) for $400 from the same seller. That's for the pair, not each!!! Have scored some other deals too, such as a rusty but nice, heavy duty pond scoop made by A&B Eagle Line for $90. That one sold new for around $450! I wound up trading it for another attachment though.

I have dabbled at buying and selling a good many attachments over the years and enjoy doing it, and have made some money from it too. For example, I turned around and sold the post hole digger, the bush hog, and the box blade I mentioned above (because I already had those pieces of equipment) and made about $400. At the same time, it lets you try other pieces of equipment basically for free. If you buy good used equipment at the right price, it generally won't lose any value, as long as you don't damage it.

The thing about scoring on craigslist is you need to be on it a lot, use the search function if you are looking for a specific piece of equipment, be willing to travel a few miles, and have the cash in your pocket ready to go at a moments notice when those good deals pop up. A little luck doesn't hurt, either!

I picked up a nearly 5' rotary cutter a couple weeks ago for $200 and put new blades on it for another $75. New they are $1200 and even worn out, beat up pieces of junk are $6-800 around here. Got a new 5' box blade from the same guy for $400 instead of $800 just cause it was old stock.

Last week I found a 6' pull type offset disk the guy was asking $50 for. Nothing wrong with it except it needed new ropes for the trip levers for the pitch adjusters. He had no use for it any more as he'd upgraded his tractor and bought a tiller for the new one. I'm waiting for him to call me if/when he decides to upgrade his 6' RFM to a 7 or 8 footer to cover the tracks of his T4.75
