I believe the model is 72" cyclone, it has captured pins and just a ton of metal around it. The gear box looks a little different from most other rotary cutters I've seen. I hear rhino/ Servis is a good brand. But I'm worried it may be a little to much. I do have a loader for counter weight. Thoughts?

Probably 1000# or so. No its not too big. May need the loader on hilly terrain, but flat I think you will be fine

That's a nice heavy duty looking cutter. I bet it will last a long time. And, I agree with LD, your tractor will handle it just fine.

I used to work at Servis back in the mid-70's. We were manufacturing and selling that model when I was there. I don't know when they quit making it.

It is a high quality, heavy duty cutter that was made to last. I would check the slip clutch to make sure it works properly, and I would look under the deck to see what kind of shape the blade pan is in and whether the gear box appears to be leaking any oil. Also check the condition of the blades, as you may want to budget for a new set of blades and blade bolts/nuts.

Ld, rd and pappy, thanks for the info! I'm picking it up tomorrow. The seller did replace the lower gearbox seal when he purchased several years ago. He said it works very well and also said the blades and stump jumper were in good shape. I will ask about the slip clutch.
I've looked at quite a few cutters and was trying to find a rhino because of what I've read here. By chance I saw this one and googled Servis and " Servis/ rhino" popped up. Rhino must of bought them out. Most of the used cutters I saw were beat up, were old and didn't have a stump jumper or were priced pretty close to what a new cutter would cost.
The seller was asking $500 and that's what I'm giving him. He sent more pics that I asked for and was more than happy to talk about the mower and explain some things. Just a nice guy

Yep like Pappy said made in Dallas ,Texas years ago . I haven't seen one of those BH 's in that good a shape in over 15 years . Looks like a nice deal . Don't know if they still do but some time back http://www.dnequipment.com/store/pc/viewBrands.asp?idbrand=1307
used to have some parts for those BH's .
Here's another product out of that plant the Servis Rhino" Little Rhino" E3WM rear blade .

Not trying to jack thread or change topic just showing what else I know off came out of there . BTW I no longer own it (sold it) bought 5 years ago.

. . . I've looked at quite a few cutters and was trying to find a rhino because of what I've read here. By chance I saw this one and googled Servis and " Servis/ rhino" popped up. Rhino must of bought them out. . . .

Actually, the company was Servis Equipment Company, and the brand name was "Servis". Some time in the early 70's the company name was changed to Austin Products, Inc., as it was a division of Austin Industries. Then in about 1977 (or thereabouts), we came up with a name change to re-brand the products to "Rhino" and developed the now well-known Rhino logo. We also owned Athens Plow Company in Athens, Tn. Both the Servis products and the Athens Plow products were really good, high quality stuff. Athens Plow had their own foundry on site.

I left there in 1978 and I think they were sold several years later. I know they are part of the Alamo group now, but I think they have been bought and sold a time or two in between the time I was there and now.

Pappy my dad was a tractor and implement salesman for our local small town dealership for over 25 years. Their main tractor line was Allis Chalmers but they also carried Rhino and Athens as short line products. We have an 8' Rhino blade that is similar to the one pictured with Cat 1 & 2 hitch. That is one heavy blade. Rhino and Athens made great products. As an aside my wife is from Athens and I lived there 3 years from 82-85. I know exactly where the foundry used to be and the current Taylor-Pittsburg plant.
