When finishing up a house, it is best for me to grade everything and then pour the sidewalks. This eliminates any, I wish I had accounted for that.... or that area is lower, etc. I realize that most pour and then grade. This mostly being that you don't want to pay your grader twice. When you grade then pour, you create a 4 inch dam with concrete so you backfill. Essentially grading again, then bring in more dirt to blend the grade level. I want to build something like an aggressive 4 ft box scrape for my skidsteer. With extra teeth. I want to grade the yard exact. Paint the lines on the ground, then cut a 3 inch deep x 4ft wide recess the entire lengths of sidewalks. This will leave room to form, then pour and give an inch higher than ground level walkway. The ground, especially now, is like a brick. So I need teeth to cut in and a box to drag out the dirt. A large capacity box would be nice so that once you move the skidsteer into position, you can cut 10 to 15 feet before dumping. During wet months, I can shave this out with my 4 in 1 bucket, from the sides, but way to hard now. I have a bobcat heavy quick tach , 4 or 5 inch tubular frame that I never made into a boom pole. I could weld ripper teeth all along the bottom edge. But I would rather get it out, away from the machine a little so I can see it. Well, I have explained my intentions. All ideas welcome.
