I am interested and adding a simple grapple to my Mahindra 2816 tractor. I want to add the grapple to the bucket.
Don't really need a separate unit grapple. Just want to add to the bucket I have.

I will have to add selector valve kit for it to work. I do not have hydraulic connections in the back either. I assume the
3rd function valve is the same as a selector valve kit. Any ideas on which kit to get? I looked at a grapple called "The Thumb".
Is apx $ 369 + $ 80 s&h to equal about $ 449. Was on ebay (new). Any thoughts or advice on either?

A selector valve is a diverter valve and will get plumbed with your loader curl circuit. You can only do 2 functions at a time. A true 3rd function valve uses the power beyond line and allows you to operate 3 functions at once.

I personally prefer the diverter system because you can feather the operation of the grapple. A true 3rd function valve is either open all the way or closed, nothing in between. Many if not most prefer the true 3rd function. Typically the diverter system is easier to plumb.

Sorry, can't help you with the actual grapple.

Good luck.
