2015 KUBOTA BX25D
I did a search on this here, with no luck. Was wondering if anyone on here is using a Extreme Metal Products thumb. It looks very much like the one from Kubota that uses the existing mount on the BX25d dipper and pins on over the bucket, but its black. Is it any good, weak, mount easy, welds good,...so forth and so on. I am looking into a thumb and came across this one. Thanks.....

Well, have given this a little while to peculate and I guess nobody has one of these, so guess i will be a test dummy here pretty soon. I have searched the web for any reviews and it seems the bolt on thumb has been used by a few with great results. But really cannot find anything on the one that uses the factory mounting holes. So I think I am going to be ordering one of these come the next few days. I just cannot see paying bota 400.00 plus tax for their thumb. It really doesnt seem to be built any better than this one......

It will likely work as well as the Kubota thumb but for me, it is hydraulic thumb all the way. Sure it is more expensive but I don't have to be constantly getting off and adjusting it. With the thumb extended, it is in the way of digging so it has to be retracted, but then if you uncover a rock or root that you want to pick up, you have to get off and adjust the thumb.

I guess I am spoiled with my B26 and its hydraulic thumb, but if I were putting one on, it would be hydraulically adjustable regardless of the brand. It wont be cheap though.
