Hey guys I havent purchased a tractor yet but will be doing so in the future. I was wondering if any guys have used the forks that attach to the bucket. My use will be for moving logs that i have cut into 10ft lengths for firewood. Maybe a few other odd jobs around the house. Whats your experience with them and how did they hold up. Did they move around? Slide on the bucket? Come off? Hard to put on?

Thanks for the input

they will work ok but you loose a lot of lift capacity

Yea I figured I would but Im not sure ill need to lift anything real heavy. I wouldnt be surprised if you lost have your lifting capabilities. Pick the rear tires up for sure if it was anything to heavy

In some circumstances, yes to all of those questions. of course you loose lift compared to SSQA forks.

bottom line: bucket forks are better than no forks.. They do work if you can keep them on and not scissored. They are usefull.

It is just that SSQA forks are a lot more useful. Get SSQA on your tractor if at all possible. You will not regret it. I put SSQA on my last tractor after the fact, and I payed for it in money and aggravation. Should have gotten it in the first place.

Thanks ill probably stay clear of them. Im not much for aggravation when trying to do things. Its not a huge money saver maybe a couple hundred bucks which to me isnt a big deal. I appreciate the honesty

You won't regret getting the ssqa forks one bit. The extra lift capacity and strength will help a lot because you will be surprised how much a 10' log can weigh.

I had some bucket forks. These were homemade and fit on the bucket more like a real set of forks. They still sucked. You can't see what you're doing and the lift capacity is seriously compromised. I now have some ssqa forks that are much better. I don't use forks much anyway. My grapple pretty much retired the forks.

Just my 2 cent's..

I would steer clear and purchase some ssqa forks..They actually work without risking dropping a load or bucket damage.

I have some QA forks and can go from bucket to forks in a minute and back again in another minute and they are tough and not to expensive. Forks are on the tractor 75% of the time so would get that type again and would advise the same
